We're a small but ambitious research foundation based in Tofo Beach, Mozambique. Our work is focused on marine megafauna, particularly sharks and rays. Dr. Andrea Marshall leads manta ray research efforts and Dr. Simon Pierce leads our whale shark research. Guilherme Kodja and Sarah Bishop are in charge of our conservation and education programs, respectively.
Our scientists are supervising have three research students in 2010: Chris Rohner is conducting his PhD research on whale sharks through the The University of Queensland and CSIRO in Australia. Daan van Duinkerken (University of Utrecht, Holland) and Pete Haskell (University of Exeter, UK) are both conducting their MSc research through the Foundation.
